‘Cancel IPL’ Trends on Twitter as First Cases of COVID-19 Hit the Tournament 

For the past few days, daily new COVID-19 cases have been soaring and raising concerns regarding the fourth wave in the country. To the dismay of millions of Indian cricket fans, the 15th edition of the Indian Premier League which is currently underway, hasn’t remained untouched during the recent spike in the number of cases as three members of the Delhi Capitals team and support staff have tested positive. The entire team is currently quarantined and have canceled their travel plans. Soon after the news came out, ‘Cancel IPL’ started trending on Twitter, testifying to the concerns of people regarding the next wave of infection.
