Produced on a budget of just ₹70 crores, the movie went on to earn more than ₹2000 crores worldwide. It was a smash hit in China, becoming the highest-earning non-English foreign film in the country.
Baahubali 2: The Conclusion

Although many may not consider Baaubali 2: The Conclusion a Bollywood film, it is on our list for the wonders it did for the Hindi film industry. It even became the highest-earning Indian film of all time for a brief period. The film stars Prabhas, Rana Daggubati, Anushka Shetty, Tamannaah, and Ramya Krishna.

Bajrangi Bhaijaan

The third highest earning Indian movie of all time is Bajrangi Bhaijaan. Kabir Khan and Salman Khan have worked together on a number of other projects as well, including Ek Tha Tiger and Tubelight, but none struck a chord with the audience quite like Bajrangi Bhaijaan. It is the story of Pawan Kumar Chaturvedi, who embarks on a journey to return a mute, six years old girl to her village in Pakistan.
Secret Superstar

Secret Superstar is a surprise entry on this list of the highest grossing Indian films. Made with a meager budget of ₹15 crores as compared to other names on this list, the 2017-released Secret Superstar became one of the most profitable movies of all time with an ROI (return on investment) of over 6000%. Much like Dangal, Secret Superstar was also a huge hit in China, testifying to the fandom of Amir Khan in the country.
PK

- Director: Rajkumar Hirani
- Total Collection: ₹832 crores
The first Indian film to gross over $100 million worldwide, PK was the second outing together for Rajkumar Hirani and Amir Khan. Released in 2014, the film became the highest-earning Bollywood movie at the time. The film follows an alien (Khan), who comes to earth for research but has the remote control of his spaceship stolen.
2.0

- Total Collection: ₹800 crores
Produced with a budget of ₹575 crores, 2.0 is the most expensive Indian film. The expectations were high ever since the planning stage, and the movie did not fail its producers. On the first day of its release, the film earned over ₹117 crores, only behind Baahubali: The Conclusion, at the time. The film stars Rajnikanth and Akshay Kumar in the leading roles.
Baahubali: The Beginning

Baahubali: The Beginning not only became one of the highest earning Indian movies of all time but also bagged a gamut of awards, including the National Film Award for Best Feature Film and Best Special Effects, the first Telugu film to do so. Sultan

Sultan marks Salman Khan’s second entry on this list of highest grossing Bollywood movies of all time. It was praised by the audience and critics alike for its music, storyline, action sequences, and performances. The film stars Anushka Sharma as the leading lady opposite Khan.
Sanju

- Total Collection: ₹586 crores
Sanju is the second biographical drama film to feature on this list of highest earning Indian movies, after Dangal. The film follows Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt and his struggles with drug addiction, arrest, life in prison, and comeback in Bollywood. The film stars Ranbir Kapoor in the leading role, alongside Anushka Sharma, Vicky Kaushal, Manisha Koirala, Dia Mirza, and Paresh Rawal.
Padmaavat

- Director: Sanjay Leela Bhansali
- Total Collection: ₹585 crores
Padmaavat, starring Shahid Kapoor, Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh, is based on an epic poem by Malik Muhammad Jayasi. The controversy-laden film’s release was earlier delayed due to violent protests. However, it was later released after a few cuts and its new name. Mixed reviews and all the controversy could not keep this epic drama from reaching the list of the 10 highest grossing Bollywood movies of all time.
